I’m Back!!!!

Took a little summer vacation and life got busy. But I am back in the groove of things now.

OH! Did you catch Jon and Kate last night? I have to admit after all this drama I just had to watch… I think Kate has proven to the world that she is the one committed to this family. While Jon is off gallivanting through the French Rivera, Kate is at home doing all the mundane tasks. Taking care of the kids. Cooking. Cleaning. Entertaining a video crew. Making the most out of this situation for her children’s sake.

The camping looked like quite an adventure (not one that I would take on!). I chuckled as she was trying to start a fire. I would have been the same way – my husband is the grill master… It was nice of the camera crew to tackle putting up the second tent, I really think she was needing help there!

I was glad to see that Kate and the kids are doing well. Jon is a jerk but he is enjoying finding himself…

I Wish I Was This Cool

If I were this cool, then I would not be in the financial mess that I am in! We have over half of our income going to consumer debt every month. It is consuming our life. No room to make a mistake. No room for the unexpected. Just barely making it every month.

I really do wish I could be this cool…

My world is being overtaken by blogs. I just can not get enough of them. Some have useful information. Some are funny. Some challenge. Some even encourage me. I am addicted to blogs. It helps me realize that I am not alone in the world. Somewhere somebody is having the same thought that I am. Suffering through the same situation. Rejoicing in a similiar situation. I am glad that there are people out there willing to publish all their thoughts and life stories for people like me to read and chuckle over

Enough already! I am soooooo finished hearing about this man. He had a very sad life. I know his children are grieving. I am sure his family and friends are missing him terribly. But what is the media doing to help the situation by continuing to report on his death?

My opinion: he was probably a very lonely man and masked that with heavy drug usage. Mentally I do not think he was stable. His childhood was lost by him being forced to grow up way too quickly. Did he ever get to just play outside? How about enjoy summer days at the pool with friends? He was trying to re-create these memories for his own children and I do not think he would want all the publicity on them.

So if you are a member of a news organization, it is time to close this chapter. You may re-visit it at the end of the year when you do the top stories of 2009 (ofcourse it will just be the top story because you made it to be but I digress!)

Gosselin Family Again

Well, Jon Gosselin is at it again. Flitting through FRANCE with another new girlfriend (he seems to be a friendly guy). And Kate is living in Pennsylvania taking care of the kids and house. Wow, wish I could be a guy. Just flit off with no ramifications for my actions.

I really feel sorry for each of those children. The kids do not fully comprehend all that is going on with their parents but yet they are stuck in the middle. I am sure they are hearing rumors at school and their friends are talking. Not to mention the loss that each of these children is suffering right now. So I really feel sorry for each of the Gosselin children.

Year Round School

I thought year round schools were a terrible thing until all the schools in my school district became year round schools. And now I realize that they are the greatest invention ever! When it is 100+ degrees outside the kids are in school. When the kids are starting to get bored at home, school is going back in session. When I plan a vacation I am no longer traveling in the middle of the peak season every year. We can go in the fall when temperatures are cooler, crowds are smaller, and prices are cheaper.

As confusing as the schedule seems (9 weeks in school and 3 weeks off school) it is a schedule that I love!

Veggie Meals are SO Easy

Well, last night was another meatless meal. They are so easy and tasty. Last night I fixed a a huge pan of home made macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob (I know too many yellow foods – but you eat what you have in the house!), and a big salad. It was so delicious and everybody was licking their plates.

As we were cleaning up though, then my family realized, “where is the meat????”. Oh, my! I had almost gotten that one past them. So tonight we are grilling steaks on the grill. Because “meat is an important part of every diet”…

Celebrate Life

Vacation on the Fourth

How nice our little weekend getaway was. We stayed at the cutest little beach cottage. Had leisurely mornings. Packed a picnic lunch and spent the afternoons at the beach. Cooked out for dinner. Just a very nice relaxing vacation. Three day weekends are the bomb!

We are all a little sunburnt. Amazingly traffic was not too bad (although we got to the beach and promptly parked our car!!!!!!).

So today is a Monday and I am wishing that we were still at the beach. We got home very late last night but life must go on!
